We are looking to fill a seasonal part time, September through March, Curling Coordinator to instruct and coordinate the CWC’s Curling Section. The work schedule will form around these programs and events:
• Rock Star League Commences – Fri, October 4 2024; 4:30-6:00pm (Oct – Mar)
• Christmas Party – Dec 13, 2024
• Year End Wind-up – Mar 14, 2025
• Junior Curling Programs Commence Dates
Sat, October 5, 2024; 9:30-12:00pm (9weeks), Christmas Party – Dec 13, with Rockstars
Wed, October 16; 4:30-6:00pm (9 weeks), Christmas Party – Dec 13 with Rockstars
Sat, January 11; 9:30-12:00pm (9 weeks), Year End Wind-up – Mar 14 with Rockstars
Wed, January 8; 4:30-6:00pm (9 weeks), Year End Wind-up – Mar 14 with Rockstars
• Junior Learn to Curl Camp – Sept 27 10-12pm, Junior Skills and Drills Camp – Sept 27 1-3pm
• Family Six Pack – Saturdays 3:30-5pm (once per month)
• Family Bonspiel, and Sticks and Stones U15 Bonspiel TBD
This position focuses on the following:
• Develop, modify, promote, instruct, coordinate, and assess junior instructional programs for ages 9-18, Lite Rocks for ages 6-9, Learn to Curl – Novice to Advanced programs
• Prepare a new report card system for lessons
• Develop, organize, promote, operate and assess Junior Curling club bonspiels, special events, league wind-ups and activities, help to form and potentially coach competitive teams
• Prepare and verify registration information
• Perform administrative duties
• Coordinate school bookings, member events/programs, private lessons
• Advise members of rules, equipment, and upcoming events
• Build relationships with membership
What you will need:
• Above average communication skills; ability to relate well to both youth and adults
• Customer service orientation and a team player; positive and enthusiastic attitude
• Passionate about curling
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in instructing Learn to Curl and Intermediate clinics with emphasis on the technical aspects of the curling delivery
• Past competitive level curler an asset
• Working towards/completed Competition Coach Courses, Club Coach, and Youth Club Coach
• Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills including spreadsheets and document preparation
• Experience working in a private club setting an asset
