Ice Technician (Part time; Seasonal)

The North Hill Curling Club is accepting applications for an Ice Technician for the upcoming 2021-22 season. The North Hill Curling Club is a six-sheet curling facility close to downtown Calgary. We are an active club that is committed to providing a rewarding curling experience for curlers of all levels.

We will begin ice installation on August 24, with the goal to be ready to go on September 8th.The ice is scheduled to come out mid-April, 2022.

Reporting to the Head Ice Technician, the Ice Technician, while on duty, will ensure that the ice operations run efficiently, safely and to the standard that the membership has become accustomed. They will need to establish and maintain a positive working relationship with members, volunteers, all staff and visitors to the facility.

Anticipated work weeks are 25-30 hours during evenings and weekends, or as otherwise needed
DUTIES INCLUDE, but are not limited to:
● Assist in daily ice maintenance duties and operations.
● Minor custodial duties during shifts.
● Cleaning of and ensuring proper storage of curling rental equipment.

● Team player; service oriented.
● Self-motivated.
● Previous experience is an asset, however we are willing to train the successful candidate.
