Term: Tuesday, September 6, 2022 to Sunday, April 30, 2023
Wage Rate: $17.00 per hour
The Garrison Curling Club (the “GCC”) is accepting applications for a Curling Rink Attendant for the
upcoming season. The GCC is a six-sheet, independent facility located in the Garrison Woods
neighbourhood in south west Calgary with a full-service restaurant and bar.
Reporting to the Head Ice Technician, the Curling Rink Attendant will ensure that ice operations run
efficiently and safely. They will need to establish and maintain a positive working relationship with
members, volunteers, staff and visitors to the GCC.
This is a part-time, seasonal position. During ice installation (September), work will be predominantly
during the week day. Once the season commences, hours will shift to evenings and weekends. Work
hours are estimated at 15-20 hours per week.
Duties:
● Assist with ice installation and removal
● Perform daily ice maintenance (mopping,
pebbling, scraping, etc.)
● Record data (temperatures, compressor
hours, etc.)
● Minor custodial duties during shifts
Skills, Attributes & Qualifications:
● Self-motivated
● Team player; customer oriented
● Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
● While no direct experience is necessary,
familiarity with arena operations or a sports
and recreation business is an asset
