Curling Alberta is excited to be hosting the 2021 Men’s and Women’s Provincial Championships as a combined event in Calgary next season from January 24th to January 31st, 2021. As we are in the early stages of planning, we are now looking for a dedicated group of volunteers that will be instrumental in the success of the championship.
If you are innovative and passionate individual with strong communication skills and are eager to become part of a larger community, then you are just the person we are looking for. With twenty Committee Director positions available, you can choose where your own skill set, qualities, experiences and talents fit the best. We want to hear from you even if you don’t have curling experience. Although this unique event will begin on January 24, as a Director, you will have to begin your role sooner than that. Help us get to know you by completing the following volunteer form. After the form is completed, the Event Managers will review your form and will get back to you once the recruitment for the directors is over. There is a $48.50 volunteer fee. In return, each volunteer will receive a volunteer package which offers over $250 in value and includes;
– Championship committee jacket
– Access to all draws and events for the duration of the championship
– Free parking
– An invitation to the volunteer appreciation event
– Volunteer lounge access
Director recruitment will be accepted until all positions are filled.
Not interested in becoming a committee director but still want to volunteer? Complete the form below and state that you would rather be a member of a committee than a director. Committee recruitment will remain open right up to the event.
- Directors will be asked to attend a meeting once a month (June-August) to begin with the planning.
- After September, meetings will occur approximately twice a month.
- In December, meetings will occur once a week.
- Volunteers will be onsite for set-up and for shifts between January 22nd to 31st.
There will likely be takeaways from these meetings with tasks that will need to be done before the next meeting. Meetings will vary between in-person or by conference call. The amount of commitment required will be dependent on the role.
