2023 Canada Winter Games – Aboriginal Apprentice Coach Program

December 30, 2021

As part of the upcoming 2023 Canada Winter Games, Team Alberta has 2 opportunities for coaches under the Aboriginal Apprentice Coach Program.

The Apprentice Coach will be a member of the sport’s Canada Games coaching staff and will be provided with a walk-out uniform. The selected coaches will also receive travel to the Games, as well as meals and accommodations in the athlete’s village.

The Apprenticeship Coach Program is made possible through the partnership of the Canada Games Council, Sport Canada, Coaching Association of Canada, Aboriginal Sport Circle, Provincial/Territorial Aboriginal Sport Bodies, Provincial/Territorial Coaching Coordinators, the 2023 Canada Winter Games Host Society, selected Provincial/Territorial Sport Organizations, Apprentice Coaches and the Sport, Physical Activity and Recreation Branch.

To apply to this program as a curling coach, submit the candidate application form to Curling Alberta ([email protected]). Curling Alberta will then fill out an endorsement form for the applicant and submit both applications to the Team Alberta Chef de Mission. The deadline for submission to the Team Alberta Chef de Mission is Thursday, February 10, 2022.

Please ensure you submit your application to Curling Alberta in advance of the February 10, 2022 deadline so Curling Alberta has time to submit the endorsement application.
