Curling Alberta’s Brenda Rogers Passing the Torch as Head of Officials

A passionate volunteer, Brenda has served as the Head of Officials for SACA, the Alberta Curling Federation and for Curling Alberta for 20 years.  She is always kind, thoughtful and a champion of promoting the learning and love of curling to curling athletes of all ages and abilities. While Brenda will continue serving as a Level 5 Umpire at events as well as mentoring and training, she will be transitioning out of the Head of Officials role at the end of the 2022-23 season.

Over many years and countless events, Brenda has made an outstanding contribution to the sport of curling by giving back at all levels as a player, fan, organizer, official, promoter and leader. Through her leadership she has trained and promoted several umpires to the National level that are active today. Brenda always leads by example with attention to detail and integrity and we are grateful for her commitment and passion for our sport.

Under her leadership, Brenda has raised the bar in terms of professionalism, knowledge and experience as an official. On behalf of Curling Alberta, we thank her for her tireless service and wish her all the best in the future.
