Curling Alberta Detailed Vaccination Policy Released

October 20, 2021

Curling Alberta has released it’s detailed Vaccination Policy that is in effect at all Curling Alberta events. The Vaccination Policy requires all Curling Alberta staff, contractors, directors, coaches, athletes, support staff, volunteers, and customers 12 years of age or older to provide proof of vaccination or documentation of a medical exemption.

The intent of Curling Alberta’s vaccination policy is to follow the requirements set-out in the Government of Alberta’s Restriction Exemption Program REP, except where the policy or Curling Alberta’s COVID Competitions Policy exceeds the requirements of the provincial Restriction Exemption Program.

Subject to relevant exemptions, all Curling Alberta stakeholders must be vaccinated according to the timeline below:

  • From September 20 to October 25, 2021: proof of partial vaccination (one dose) is considered acceptable as long as the dose was given more than two weeks prior to the time of service
  • After October 25, 2021: proof of full vaccination (two doses) is required*

*As per current Alberta Heath Services guidelines, a minimum of 28 days must elapse between the first and second dose.

The full Vaccination Policy, including additional information on the process to apply for an exemption, can be found in the Curling Alberta Policies and Procedures Manual.
