On May 24th, Curling Alberta brought together champions, coaches, volunteers, and supporters for an afternoon of recognition and celebration at the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame.
The event opened with a Parade of Champions, honouring Alberta’s provincial title holders and national representatives from the 2025–26 season — including Brier Silver Medalists Team Koe, Scotties Bronze Medalists Team Sturmay, and the 2026 Wheelchair Champions, Team Purvis. A special moment of pride was shared as the room celebrated Team Jacobs capturing Gold at the Cortina Olympics, and Team Peterman/Gallant representing Canada on the world stage.
The afternoon also featured Curling Alberta’s annual awards, celebrating the extraordinary individuals who give back to the sport at every level:
- Instructor of the Year — Amanda Sparks
- Ice Technician of the Year — Becky Fadden
- Coach of the Year — Mike Landry
- Volunteer of the Year — Val Leahy
- Official of the Year — Kim Weaver
- Club of the Year — Tofield / North Hill Curling Club
- Youth Sportsmanship of the Year — Rhett Mallioux

Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating the heart of Alberta curling — the athletes, volunteers, officials, and partners who make our sport what it is.
