First Rocks presented by Sentinel Storage

Promote your club this summer with Curling Alberta and Sentinel Storage!

Are you looking for more members to join your club this season? Why not use Curling Alberta’s express rink to promote curling in your community!

Following the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympics, there’s more eyes than ever on curling. The Olympic boom is a great opportunity to showcase our sport and create avenues for more people to get involved. Curling is for everyone!

How to Promote Curling with the Express Rink!

  • Have curling equipment (ie brooms, shoes, rocks) available at your booth for participants to view and try.
  • If you’re near the curling club, offer tours of the building. Even without ice, tours can help create a welcoming space.
  • Create a brochure with information on your club and all it offers, including leagues and programs.
  • Have an information binder for your volunteers to reference when talking to participants. This will increase volunteers confidence and give everyone the opportunity to share the sport they love!
  • Junior curlers can be the best ambassadors for our sport! Let them get involved with your event and teach other kids how to play with the express rink.

Tips for collecting emails

  • Advertise a Try-Curling session and allow for registrations on the spot. Looking for tips on holding a Try-Curling session? Email [email protected]
  • Have a sign up sheet for participants to leave their email. If registration isn’t open yet, you can notify the list when it opens. This is especially helpful for junior curling, learn to curl, and newsletters.
  • Hold a giveaway for a free 1-hour instruction. Participants can leave their email to enter the giveaway.
