Girls Rock
Girls Rock is a female-led, female-participant “try curling” event, for girls aged 9-16, that focuses on FUN experiences, new SOCIAL connections, and creating welcoming spaces for girls to share the JOY of curling. Each season, clubs will be chosen by Curling Canada to receive funding towards their Girls Rock, presented by Scotties, event. More information on the program and how to apply can be found here.
Ready to Rock
The Ready to Rock Program is a Learn to Curl program designed to help Curling Clubs in Alberta develop their junior pathway and expand their reach through Curling Alberta’s resources. RockStars
Curling Canada’s U-12 RockStars Program is a series of lesson plans, resources and training guides for youth instructors to implement TODAY. The easy-to-follow program boosts young curlers’ engagement and self-confidence by developing their skills in five key categories – technical, tactical, physical, mental and social– while providing the framework for instructors to offer consistent and engaging learning experiences. The program equips young curlers with the foundation to continue through the Long Term Curler Development pathway for wherever their curling journey takes them. U-15 Learn to Curl
Curling Canada’s U15 Learn to Curl program is designed to introduce children to the sport of curling. The objective is to have fun, increase physical literacy with key fundamental movement skills (FMS), follow Curling Canada’s Long Term Curler Development (LTCD) framework and begin sport specific techniques. U-18 Learn to Curl
Curling Canada’s U18 Learn to Curl program is designed to introduce teens to the sport of curling. The objective is to have fun, increase physical activity, promote curling as a life-long recreational sport and provide competitive opportunities for participants who show interest and want to remain Competitive for Life. U-12, U-15 Developmental Program
Curlers are generally known for having tremendous passion for the sport. We endeavour to instill this love of curling in our youth by creating an engaging environment that will encourage our kids to thrive through active participation.
By using a stations based approach we are ensuring the participants are active, interested and excited throughout each session. This station-based program ensures they are rapidly developing all of the skills required for competency in the sport of curling. Skills Curling
The reimagined Skills Curling app is a powerful training and competition tool, allowing athletes to practice and submit scores for a variety of hit and draw shots. Their performance is evaluated, stored in personal profiles, and added to a national leaderboard. Difficulty levels are customized by age category: U-15, U-18, U-21, and U-25+. Hit Draw Tap
Curling Canada's Hit Draw Tap Program, or "HDT", is a youth development "skills competition" where kids aged 6-12 compete as individuals. HDT will group kids into three different age categories, and perform three different shots: a "Hit," a "Draw" and a "Tap". Triples Spiels
Triples Curling is an exciting new discipline that has been developed by Curling Canada. As its name suggests,
curlers compete in teams of 3 when playing Triples. Each end consists of 6 shots per team, with each player
throwing 2 shots per end.

U-15 RockFest
The U-15 RockFest, with its strategic blend of training and competition, is a fun one-of-a-kind event that offers young athletes the chance to develop their skills and compete in various skills and triples curling formats against peers from neighbouring provinces and territories.
The events aim to provide young curlers with the skills necessary to develop in all aspects of strategy and technical development. The goal is to help young athletes acquire the tools to reach their maximum potential, whether on a competitive path or playing recreationally. Information on Alberta's Qualifiers can be found here.
U-18 Qualifiers & Provincials
Top U18 teams from across the province will gather to compete for the provincial title, national qualification opportunities, and the chance to showcase their skills on one of Alberta’s biggest junior stages.

School Competitions
High School Curling is a great way for juniors to continue playing the sport and get their friends involved. Support your local High School team through ice and coaching, or become a hub for teams to compete against each other! Visit School Sport Alberta for more information.

High Performance Program
Curling Alberta has enhanced its High Performance Program for the upcoming season, with a renewed focus on supporting U20 and U25 teams through our network of High Performance Regional Training Centres.
This program is designed to elevate performance at the national level while providing Alberta teams with the tools, structure, and support needed to progress into Curling Canada’s National Team and NextGen programs. Learn more about the program and apply to be a High Performance team here.
