Curling Alberta (ACF) is the amalgamated provincial sport organization that supports our affiliated members. Our organization is governed by a Board of Directors that provide direction and support to the operational staff in the implementation of our strategic plan and business plan.
Steve Gerlitz, former Zone 4 Board Director, has resigned from the Board. As one of the original Curling Alberta Board members, Steve has contributed significantly to getting our organization off the ground. We send our sincere thanks for all Steve has done, not only for Curling Alberta, but the entire curling community. We wish Steve success in all his future endeavors.
When the Board was originally formed, one of the key principles was to ensure broad representation from all regions. Currently, we are seeking to fill a vacancy in Zone 4.
Some of the skills we are looking for include:
• Previous board experience
• Leadership
• Strategic planning
• Knowledge of curling
• Communications
• Project management
• Financial knowledge
As per the Curling Alberta bylaws, this board appointment will be effective until the next meeting of the members which is likely to be set for June of 2020. At that time, the appointee may choose to run in the annual election to fill the remainder of the term which will last for two additional years.
All interested applicants are asked to complete a short biography and the skills matrix which should be submitted via email to [email protected] before January 20, 2020. A board recruitment package will be available upon request.
