We want to sincerely thank our outgoing board members, Alan Bone and David Hyatt, for their hard work and dedication to Curling Alberta. Both have offered considerable time to this organization and contributed significantly to its progress and successes.

Below is some brief information about the two successful candidates joining our board in July. As you will see, Curling Alberta will continue with a strong skill set which will help the organization continue to evolve.

Christopher Martin – Currently residing in Edmonton, Christopher is an administrative professional in the public sector who joins Curling Alberta with nearly a decade of strategic planning, public policy, and governance-related experience. He is an avid curler who first took up the sport in 2014 when he joined the Prairie Lily Curling League (Saskatoon) and most recently joined the Curling with Pride (Edmonton) league last year.

George Mitsopoulos –  Currently residing in Fort McMurray, George is a senior leader in the energy industry who joins Curling Alberta with experience in operational leadership as well as regulatory and risk management.  He enjoys curling and took up the sport again after his young boys started curling about 8 years ago.  He is a Certified Competition Coach who coaches a U18 boys team and helps coordinate the junior curling program in Fort McMurray.  He has extensive volunteer experience with many committees and boards and is excited to join the Curling Alberta team.
