2026 RME New Holland Alberta Summit of Champions, Men’s & Women’s Provincial Championship is Coming to Okotoks — Tickets Now Available
Okotoks, AB – Curling Alberta is excited to announce that tickets are now on sale for the 2026 RME New Holland Alberta Summit of Champions, presented by Best Western Hotel and Resorts and Sentinel Storage, respectively, coming together in a thrilling combined event hosted in the vibrant town of Okotoks. In partnership with the Okotoks Curling Club, this prestigious event will take place January 5–11, 2026, bringing Alberta’s top curling teams under one roof for a week of elite competition, community celebration, and unforgettable moments on the ice.
Held at the Murray Arena within the Okotoks Recreation Centre, this marks the first time in Alberta history that the men’s and women’s provincial championships will be held simultaneously with spectators. While a combined event was previously held during the COVID-19 pandemic, it occurred without the general public. This 2026 edition represents a significant milestone in Alberta curling, offering fans the chance to witness both championships live in a single, unified celebration of the sport.
“Bringing our provincial championships together as a combined event to Okotoks is more than just a change in format – it’s a celebration of community, excellence, and the future of curling in Alberta,” said Jill Groves, Executive Director of Curling Alberta. “With the growth of our sport and the passion in the Okotoks region, we are confident this will be a championship to remember.”
This new format reflects Curling Alberta’s commitment to innovation and inclusivity in sport. By uniting multiple provincial championships under one roof, the event will showcase elite-level competition while amplifying fan engagement and creating a festival-like atmosphere that celebrates the curling community as a whole.
“Our entire community is buzzing with excitement,” said Hillary Selkirk, Host Chair and member of the Okotoks Curling Club. “We can’t wait to roll out the red carpet and show the province what makes Okotoks special. From the volunteers to the local businesses, everyone is ready to make this a marquee event on the curling calendar.”
“We know how a united event like this energizes both curlers and spectators,” added Britney Andersen, Director of Operations at Curling Alberta. “This championship will spotlight not only the incredible skill of Alberta athletes, but the power of curling to bring people together in a true celebration of sport and community.”
The 2026 championship will feature 12 of Alberta’s top men’s and 12 of the top women’s teams, all competing for the honour of representing the province at the 2026 Montana’s Brier and Scotties Tournament of Hearts, respectively. Anticipated contenders include Team Selena Sturmay, Team Kevin Koe, Team Evan Van Amsterdam, and Team Plett – though final lineups are subject to qualification.
Curling Alberta extends its sincere thanks to the Town of Okotoks, the Okotoks Curling Club, and all partners and volunteers for their unwavering support in making this event possible.
